On 17th October 2025, members of the Systems iO team traded keyboards for running shoes as they joined XCO Group in Pretoria for the ‘Run a Mile in Her Shoes’ breast cancer awareness event.
The afternoon had the buzz of a neighbourhood gathering, with businesses and community members rallying behind the I Love Boobies Foundation and its work supporting breast cancer patients and survivors. Pink dominated the scene, along with the kind of upbeat encouragement usually reserved for school sports days.
While the event included some friendly competition, the focus stayed on purpose over performance. Our Systems iO team joined in as runners, more used to deadlines than finish lines, and welcomed the chance to step outside routine and support a cause that touches many lives.
We were also proud to be the event’s main sponsor, adding the experience to a growing list of community initiatives this year.
Most important was unity: colleagues, partners and neighbours coming together for a great cause. Every laugh, stride and stretch reflected a belief we hold close: technology thrives when people and communities do too.
